The purpose of this program, is to support Nikkei youth (under 30 years of age), in their pursuit of higher education, keeping in mind the importance of community involvement. We will provide up to 2 scholarships ($500 each) to members of the local Nikkei community, in order to assist with their post-secondary education expenses.
ELIGIBILITY
- Candidates must be residents of Quebec;
- Must be Canadian citizens of Japanese heritage (full or part);
- Must be currently registered full-time in a post-secondary program in Quebec
HOW TO APPLY
- A written request must be made to the JCCCM, containing the candidate’s contact information, their future plans/goals, as well as a summary of the candidate’s involvement with the local Japanese community.
DEADLINE
- Deadline for submission is December 15, 2023. Applications may be emailed to the Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre of Montreal at centrejaponais@bellnet.ca.
- The successful candidate(s) will be advised by January 15, 2024, at which time, proof of current school registration will be requested.
Priority will be given to applicants who have been involved in the local Japanese community and particularly with the JCCCM, either as a volunteer or in some other capacity.
